In our endeavor to make Haitian history more accessible to a wider audience, we have chosen to primarily use English as the language of communication on our platform. Given the significant growth of scholarly production on Haiti in the Anglo-sphere over the last thirty years, promoting this work and making it more accessible to a diverse readership is one of our primary goals.

However, in an effort to further expand our reach, some contributors based in Quebec, Canada, have chosen to make their contributions in French. Beyond a mere issue of language, the utilization of these two languages reflects different sensibilities in approaching Haitian history.

While we currently do not publish content in Haitian Creole, we highly value its significance as Haiti’s national language and recognize its vital role in shaping the country’s history and identity. Nonetheless, we do provide resources for those interested in enhancing their understanding of the language.
